Bub McCool Qualifies For North/South 100; Topless 100 Up NextVicksburg, MS (08/17/10) – Bub McCool powered his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model into his first ever main event start in the North/South 100 over the weekend, and even though he didn’t get the finish he had hoped, it was still a strong outing.
Bub entered the 28th Annual North/South 100 over the weekend at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series (LODLMS) mega-event drew a field of 71 Super Late Models, and after struggling in time trials, McCool was pinned with the sixth starting spot for his heat race. Despite starting around mid-pack, Bub would make a daring move on the first lap of his heat race to rocket into the third spot. He would maintain the position for the rest of the race, earning the 15th starting spot for the main event. In the 100 lap feature, Bub would race around mid-pack for much of the event before ultimately retiring to a 22nd place finish late in the race. Full results are available at
