Richie Tosh Lands Ride For 18th Annual Topless 100 This WeekendSalado, AR (08/17/10) – Even though Richie Tosh is no stranger to the COMP Cams Topless 100 or the Batesville Motor Speedway, it has been over five years since he last entered the mega-event. That will all change this weekend as Tosh will pilot the #11x Lance Landers Motorsports/Mark Martin Automotive/Triple A Diesel/GRT/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model in the 18th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100.
Tosh last competed in a COMP Cams Topless 100 event in 2005, and that was actually the last time that the driver tabbed as the “Salado Flash” competed in an Open Super Late Model. His record in the COMP Cams Topless 100 is pretty strong with three main event starts in just five attempts. His last start came in 2003, where he picked up a 14th place finish in Wendell Wallace’s backup GRT car.
In 2010, Richie has resumed a busy racing schedule that has seen him claim three Crate Late Model feature wins, six Open Wheel Modified wins, and two Street Stock wins, including a $5,000 payday! Early in the season, he also began driving for Lance Landers, while Landers’ Son, Jared, was in North Carolina. From that part-time driving duty has grown this weekend’s Super Late Model ride for the 18th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100.
Tosh comments, “I can’t stress enough how excited I am to be climbing behind the wheel of a Super Late Model again. Without Lance Landers, Joe Garrison, and the folks at Triple A Diesel, this just would not have been possible. They are really putting me in a top-notch ride for this event. I can’t thank them enough, and hopefully I can make some noise this weekend and do them proud!”
Richie Tosh’s pursuit of a COMP Cams Topless 100 crown will begin on Thursday, August 19th with an Open Practice Session. On Friday, August 20th time trials and heat race action will be held, while Saturday, August 21st will see b-mains and the 100 lap finale, which pays $40,000 to win and $2,000 to start. The weekend will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series (LODLMS), and the SPEED TV cameras will be on hand to film all of the action. For more information on the event, please visit
