Richmond Raceway Clarifies Rule Concerns for Sportsman Nationals on August 21st

Contact: Jeremy Shields (jumpstartcomm@live.com)
RICHMOND, KY (August 17, 2010)-Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett have issued a statement regarding the rule concerns for 1st Annual Sportsman Nationals August 21st.

The rules for this event will remain the same as they have all season long. There will not be any changes or amendments to the rule book for this special event. We will NOT allow any tube frame or aluminum/sheet metal body cars, NO exceptions. Car must weigh a minimum of 3200 lbs. with driver at all times. Hoosier and American Race Tires will be allowed but must be A, H, Hard or Extra Hard on all four corners. Absolutely NO soft compounds will be permitted.

“We feel that it is unfair to our local drivers to change the rules on such short notice without giving them ample time to prepare their cars,” stated track promoter Joey Tackett. “If it was not for the local drivers that support Richmond Raceway on a weekly basis, the track simply would not exist,” Tackett added.

A complete set of rules and regulations along with other information concerning Richmond Raceway can be found at www.richmond-raceway.net
