Small Block Modified Race Will Not Be Rescheduled for 2010 at SSP
Sportsman Modifieds Added to J&K Salvage Candy Bowl VI on Saturday, October 30
Newberrytown, PA (August 17, 2010) – After reviewing many other speedway schedules, Susquehanna Speedway Park management was unable to find a suitable date to reschedule the August 1 postponed Small Block Modified King of the Hill race. “We believe that the Small Blocks are a great show at SSP, however we could not find any dates that would not conflict with any already scheduled special events for the Small Blocks,” said Todd Fisher, SSP co-owner along with his wife Rhonda. “We look forward to adding the Small Block Modifieds to the 2011 schedule earlier in the season rather than the date scheduled in 2010 (in August).”
The Sportsman Modifieds will join the ARDC Wingless Midgets and the HTMA Pro 600cc Micro Sprints at the J&K Candy Bowl VI on Saturday, October 30, 2010. The rules will follow the generally accepted Sportsman Modified rules throughout local tracks in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. The 20-lap feature will pay $1,000 to the winner. The 12 Sportsman Modified drivers that attended the August 1 event will be guaranteed starters for the feature event, provided they attempt to qualify through the normal qualifying process and they do not mail back their pit pass for a refund.
On Saturday night, October 30, racing action now begins at 3:00 p.m. Pit gates will open at 12:00 p.m. and the grandstand gates will open at 1:00 p.m. General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for the Candy Bowl are Adults (ages 18-59) $15.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $13.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14. The raindate for the Candy Bowl will be Sunday, November 1.
Rainchecks from the August 1 event may be used for the remainder of the season for any SSP scheduled event. Fans and participants unable to use the rainchecks from August 1 (for both grandstands and pits) may return them to the Susquehanna Speedway Park for a refund. The ticket stubs and pit passes (must have numbers on them) may be mailed to SSP at 3805 Natalie Lane, Dover, PA 17315.
