Late Models Ready to Invade Hutchinson for the Only Time in 2010by Dusty Wiegert
HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- The opportunity Late Model fans in the Hutchinson area have been waiting for is nearly at hand.
On Saturday August 14 the Midwest DIRTcar Late Model Series rolls into the Hutchinson Raceway Park for their first ever appearance, the first time in 3 years Late Models have been at the raceway, and the only time in 2010 fans in the area will have a chance to catch the wedge bodied gladiators in action.
The "G Man" Gary Gorby will lead the MDLMS warriors into battle at the 3/8 mile oval, currently sitting in a comfortable lead in the point standings. Joining him will be a host of area drivers, including Brad Fortney, Tyler and Cale Gottschalk, Doug Sieh, Jimmy Segraves, Ryan McAninch, and more.
G&G Dozer of Caney, Kansas has stepped up to the plate to become the title sponsor of the event. Business owner Gary Gorby has been influential in supporting late model racing in the past and his help is greatly appreciated today.
Also in action will be a special Cruiser/Bomber event with both divisions running together, Hornets, Street Stocks, and the Kid's QRC Kart division.
Admission for adults is $15, with youth 7-13 $5, and kids 6 & under FREE. Pit passes will be $25.
Pit Gates are set to open at 4:00PM, Grandstand gates open at 5:00PM, a special Autograph Session for the kids is set to begin at 6:00PM, with hot laps at 7:00PM and racing to follow at 7:30PM.
