Hammerle leads Late Models back into action at Macon Speedway

MACON SPEEDWAY PRESENTS TALK 101 ½ PRICE FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT PLUS SPORTSMAN QUALIFIER

(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway will be back in action after one week off and will be hosting the ½ price fan appreciation night Saturday night, August 14. Talk 101 ½ price fan appreciation night will allow Macon Speedway patrons to get into the night’s race for only $5 and children 12 & under will be admitted for free. Macon Speedway values their loyal fans and wants them to know that they appreciate them coming out and supporting the racers each and every Saturday night. Fans will also be treated to a Sportsman Qualifier race where the UMP Touchstone Energy Sportsman will have one more chance to qualify to enter the “Super Bowl of the Year” race; the Sportsman Nationals held at the Illinois State Fair on August 22. Macon Speedway will also be hosting another Kids Club meeting where the youngest fans of Macon Speedway will be racing box cars. All UMP divisions; Late Models, Modifieds, Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Street Stocks and Pro and Amateur Hornets and the High School Hornets will be in attendance racing for the checkered flag.

The points race is heating up in all divisions as Macon Speedway will race it’s first race in August. The Late Model division is still being led by Mike Hammerle racing his #16H. Mike holds off Jim Moon by a mere 60 points. The UMP Modified division is being led by #37, Davey Crawley Jr. of Decatur, IL. The UMP Sportsman division is s close race with Davey Crawley Jr. also leading Shelbyville’s own Rick Roedel in his #11 Touchstone Energy Sportsman by 76 points. Larry Russell leads the Street Stock division and Sam McCoy and Jonathan Drake lead the Hornet divisions. Don’t miss your chance to see if these winners will hold off their second and third place competition in another exciting week of racing at Macon Speedway.
