ROCK GAULT MEMORIAL RACE SET TO ROLL 8/14/2010 AT CHEROKEE SPEEDWAY Gaffney S.C - The Southern AllStars East Super Late Models are heading back into Gaffney S.C to take 40 laps around Cherokee Speedway for the Inaugural Rock Gault Memorial. The points are as close as ever this far into a season, and look for drivers to start taking chances and separate themselves from the rest of the competition. Casey Roberts and Johnny Pursley sit tied atop the East points standing with Mike Gault in 3rd. Only 56 points separate 3rd- 7th which also includes Zack Mitchell, Travis Leake, Ross Bailes, and Jim Rasey whom are all chasing the 2010 Cruise of Champions ROY award. They are separated by a mere 48 points.
Rock Gault, the well respected and loved owner/promoter of years past at Cherokee Speedway left his mark on the sport and the area racers. “He made Cherokee Speedway the home to himself and his family, I am honored to be a part of this great event” said track promoter Lennie Buff.
In addition to the SASE Super Late Models fans will get to witness the fan favorite Limited Sportsman drivers, Open wheel Modifieds will make their 1st ever main event since the shortening of the speedway in 2006 paying $500 to win, Young Guns, Pure Stock, and Extreme 4 (FWD) will also be in action.
