Paducah International Raceway Kicks off August with Fan Appreciation Night

Paducah, KY- August 5, 2010- Pay only half-price for the seat you probably will not sit in anyway. Paducah International Raceway will be having Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, August 6th.  Friday will also be Pepsi Mid-America Night and there will be lots of fun, entertainment, and giveaways. The fireworks display that was originally scheduled for last week will also be held following the races.

All the weekly favorites will be in action, and as the summer gets hotter so does the competition. Defending Super Late Model Champion Kevin Cole continues to hold on to a 62-point lead over second place veteran driver Randy Sellars. Defending Pro (Crate) Late Model Champion Tait Davenport is still in control of the championship points lead over second place Cary King. Current Modified points leader Rod Reed has a 13-point advantage over second place Justin Houston, while defending Champion Todd Miller must battle back from the eighth spot to claim another track Championship. Defending Street Stock Champion and current UMP National Points Leader JR Mason is back on a winning streak and holding the points lead over second place Tony Cruse. Rain claimed the two 4-Cylinder Warriors Feature last week. Fans can look forward to Double Features in both these classes as current 4-Cylinder Warrior points leader Kyle Clark chases his first Championship; and High-School Warrior points leader Kassidi Gibbs holds on to the coveted top spot while vying for PIR’s first ever High-School Warrior Championship.

Pit Gates open at 4:00 PM and Grandstands open at 5:00 PM. Hot Laps are at 6:30 PM with racing at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $6 for Adults and Children 12 and under are Free. Pit Admission is $25.

Other events on the schedule for August include Regular Friday Night Racing on Friday, August 13th, the Legends of PIR “get dirty” one more time on Friday, August 20th, and PIR’s claim to fame the USA World 50 sponsored by Federated Auto Parts will be Friday, August 27th.

2010 marks Paducah International Raceway’s fifth year with the current NASCAR driver owners. “Get Dirty” at PIR with racing every Friday night.
