FASTRAK Late Model Series to Run Feature Race at The Dirt Track at Charlotte In Conjunction with Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 4, 2010) - The FASTRAK Late Model Series will add extra excitement to an already action-packed evening when they race the FASTRAK Triple Crown, a 30-lap, $2,000-to-win feature in conjunction with the Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash Aug. 14., at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Originally scheduled for May 28, the FASTRAK Triple Crown was postponed due to inclement weather. The late model racing portion of the night is slated to begin at 6:45 p.m. with hot laps, followed by heat racing at 7:20 p.m. and B-Features at 8:05 p.m. The A-Feature will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m. immediately following the monster truck freestyle event.
"I look forward to coming back to Charlotte," said R. Stan Lester, CEO and founder of the FASTRAK Racing Series. "The Dirt Track at Charlotte is one of the best facilities in the country and it's always a pleasure to race there.
"This event in particular is going to be a great one, especially running in conjunction with the Monster Truck Bash. It will give the series and the drivers a unique opportunity to race in front of a totally different fan base and that should be fun."
More than 40 FASTRAK Late Model Series drivers are expected to compete on the lightning-fast, four-tenths-mile oval, including Dennis "Rambo" Franklin, Ron "The Bull" Parker, Timbo Magnum, Royce Bray and David Smith.
The last time the FASTRAK Late Model Series visited The Dirt Track was in May 2009, and Austin Dillon, grandson of NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, thrilled the crowd when he put his black No. 3 in Victory Lane. Dillon led the 25-lap race flag-to-flag producing a moving spectacle as many fans raised three fingers in memory of the late Dale Earnhardt, who made the number famous driving for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
