Deery Series headlines Aug. 3 Tornado Tuesday show at Farley FARLEY, Iowa (July 30) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series makes a long awaited return to Farley Speedway, headlining the Aug. 3 Tornado Tuesday show.
First place in the IMCA Late Model tour main event pays $2,000. All feature qualifiers get a minimum of $250.
Farley has hosted three previous series events, the most recent of them won by Jeff Aikey of Waterloo in 2003.
Jason Friesen of Sutton, Neb., won the 2001 event while current point leader Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Ill., was first to the checkers the next year.
Guss already owns four series wins this season, boosting his advantage in the point race considerably with checkered flag runs in three of the last four tour outings.
Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, Ill., is a three-time winner while six-time and defending series champion Aikey has won twice. Rob Toland of Davenport has won once.
IMCA Modifieds are also on the Tuesday card at Farley, running for national, ButlerBuilt North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points.
Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Rain date would be Wednesday, Aug. 4.
Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for students ages 13-17 and free for kids 12 and under. Pit passes are $25.
