Scott James Readies for Florence and Lincoln After Charging to Butterball Top Ten

(BRIGHT, INDIANA)  The Scotty Earl Racing team and driver Scott James invaded the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky and the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky on July 16-17 for a pair of $5,000 to win programs. On Friday night at Ponderosa, the NASRA Super Late Model Series sanctioned the annual running of the 'John Bradshaw Memorial.' Scott won his heat race in preliminary action and was battling towards the front of the field in the A-Main when he lost a wheel on lap 11. Unfortunately, Scott was relegated to a disappointing nineteenth place performance.

Next up for the #s44 team was a trip to Richmond on Saturday evening for the 23rd Annual 'Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial.' Scott ran fifth in heat race action, but later won his B-Main to advance into the $5,000 to win main event. The driver known as the "Silver Shark" then put on a show in the A-Main, as he blew past ten competitors en route to a strong seventh place effort. Complete results from the doubleheader weekend can be located at www.ponderosaspeedway.net and www.richmond-raceway.net.

Scott and the #s44 team will now set their sights on two different venues over the July 24-25 weekend.  On Saturday night, the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky will play host to a $5,000 to win unsanctioned show, which will serve as a tune-up for the ‘North/South 100.’  The Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois will then take center stage on Sunday with a pair of races.  The rain-postponed UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals event will pay $5,000 to the winner on Sunday, while a regularly scheduled $2,000 to win Monster Midwest Series program will wrap up the busy day at Lincoln.  Scott is scheduled to start third in the postponed Summer Nationals race, as he won his heat race back on July 4.  Additional information can be found online at www.florencespeedway.com and www.lincolnspeedway.org.

All summer long, fans are encouraged to donate money for Scott James to “Brave the Shave!”  The campaign, which kicked off at the ‘Dream 100’ in early June, will culminate during the ‘World 100’ weekend at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 9-11.  Scott, along with twenty other drivers, will shave their heads at Eldora to raise money for three worthy cancer charities.  You can learn more about A Head for A Cure and the “Brave the Shave” campaign by clicking on www.ahead4acure.com.
