CMH Diamond Nationals this Saturday, July 17th at Lucas Oil SpeedwayWheatland, MO (July 13th, 2010) - This Saturday, July 17th at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri it's the Fourth Annual CMH Diamond Nationals featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in their second and final appearance this season along with the region's top Dirt Late Model Drivers from the Lucas Oil MLRA. The Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds will also be in action as they battle for $500 to win. The CMH Diamond Nationals will pay $10,000 to win and $700 to start for the Late Models and will be taped by the cameras of SPEED.
The appearance by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is the ninth all-time at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks". Iowa's Brian Birkhofer has taken home three victories at the track since 2006. Other series winners at Lucas Oil Speedway includes Pearson, who has won twice; Shannon Babb, Bart Hartman, and this year's $30,000 to win DART "Show-Me 100" Champion, Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC.
Scott Bloomquist, the 2009 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion will try to extend his points lead this weekend as Bloomquist currently holds a 195-point lead over Jimmy Owens. Earl Pearson, Jr. has crept to within 80 points of Owens with his recent hot-streak of victories. Ray Cook continues to come on strong in the point's battle. He garnered his seventh consecutive top four-finish this past weekend in Mississippi. Don O'Neal currently sits in the fifth spot in points; he is looking to get back into the winner's circle this weekend.
The remainder of the top ten in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Standings include Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA; Chris Wall of Holden, LA; Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI; Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN; and Eric Wells of Hazard, KY.
Wall leads the Quarter Master "Rookie of the Year" standings by 65-points over Wells with Tim Isenberg of Marshfield, WI, third. He has also picked up two spots in the championship points standings in the last two weeks. Please visit

Brad Looney of Republic, MO currently leads the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series point's standings. He holds a narrow lead over 6-Time and Defending Series Champion, Al Purkey of Coffeyville, KS. Dave Eckrich of Oxford, IA sits third in points, only 10 behind the leader Looney. Rounding out the Top-5 are teammates, Terry Phillips and Jeremy Payne who both reside in Springfield, MO.
Hall of Famer, Joe Kosiski of Omaha, NE comes into the "CMH Diamond Nationals" sixth in points. Evan Hubert of Cross Timbers, MO; Chad Simpson of Mt. Spectator Gates will open at 5:00pm on Saturday, July 17th with Hot Laps set to get under way at 7:00 followed by Qualifying, Heat Races, and Main Events. Adult Admission at the gate will be just $25 with Seniors and Active Military only $20. Juniors (6-15) will be $5 and Kids 5 and under are always FREE at Lucas Oil Speedway. Show Your AAA Membership Card at the gate and receive $3 off any Adult or Senior General Admission Ticket. Pit Pass Pricing is set at $35.
Family Passes are priced at only $50 for the event on July 17th, which includes entry for two adults (age 16 and up) and up to three youth (ages 6-15), One Free Slick Track Go-Kart Ride, discounts on kids, meals, gift shop merchandise, and funnel cakes.
The Lucas Oil Speedway is located at Highways 83 and 54 in Wheatland, MO. A campground with shower and bathroom facilities is also available.
