Last weekend Bub entered the Four Crown Nationals, and he opened it on Thursday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi. The $2,000 to win event, which was sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Super Late Models saw Bub set a new track in time trials to earn the pole position for the 40 lap feature. However, before the feature could be run, heavy rains set in forcing the postponement of the event until August 13th.
On Friday night, McCool entered the second round of the Four Crown Nationals, and for the second night in a row, he was the fast qualifier over a field of 31 competitors. After starting in the pole position bub battled for the lead for much of the event before settling for a third place finish behind event winner, David Breazeale, and Kyle Beard.
Saturday night was a great night for bub and the team, as he once again set fast time in time trials to earn the pole position for the feature at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi in Round #3 of the Four Crown Nationals. McCool led the first 15 laps before Jimbo McDuffie and David Breazeale shuffled him back to third on a lap 16 restart. Bub wouldn't give up though as lap 25 would see him race back past the duo to retake the lead. He would never look back en route to his first win of the 2010 season!
On Sunday night Bub entered Round #4 of the Four Crown Nationals at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Forty-six Super Late Models entered the $2,000 to win event, and despite having to go to a backup car due to mechanical woes after hot laps, Bub started the night by setting fast time for the fourth night in a row. He was joined on the front row for the featue by Chad Thrash, and would fall back to second at the drop of the green flag. McCool would run second for much of the event before being shuffled back to the fourth position on a late race restart. He would maintain the fourth position for the remainder of the event.
