Dewaine Hottinger Returns To COMP Cams MSRA Late Model Action This Weekend

Russellville, Arkansas (07/07/10) – After a week away from racing Dewaine Hottinger and Hott Motorsports will return to action with their #65 Doug’s Electrical Service/Rocket/Hatfield Racing Engine Super Late Model this weekend in a COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model double header.

The team was last in action on June 25th-26th as they took part in two COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model events. Things got underway on Friday, June 25th at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas. After a strong run in his heat race, Dewaine locked into the fifth starting position. He ran in the top five for the first half of the event before slipping to the sixth position just past the halfway point. Dewaine was still running in the top ten on a lap 27 restart, when chaos was unleashed as several cars stacked up in front of him. He would be involved in the melee, but was able to rejoin the tail of the field. He would rebound to an 11th place finish in the closing laps of the $2,000 to win event.

On Saturday night, June 26th Hottinger was in action at Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Arkansas for another $2,000 to win program. After starting eighth, Dewaine would advance three spots to a solid fifth place finish in the final rundown behind event winner, Bill Frye, Jeff Floyd, Kyle Beard, and Johnny Virden.

Dewaine is currently 6th in the latest COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model standings.

This weekend Dewaine will look to make up more ground in the COMP Cams MSRA point’s chase with events in Louisiana and Arkansas. On Friday, the team will make the long trek to Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, Louisiana for a $2,000 to win/$300 to start event before moving on to 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Arkansas on Saturday night for a $2,000 to win/$400 to start event.
