David Breazeale Claims Two Wins; Clash At The Mag Next For Henderson Motorsports

Laurel, Mississippi (07/07/10) – David Breazeale powered his #54 Henderson Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model to a pair of wins over the weekend in the Four Crown Nationals.

The Fourth of July weekend was a busy time for Henderson Motorsports as the team entered four events in the state of Mississippi.

With both David Breazeale and Leon Henderson chasing the PRO Dirt Car Series Championship, they entered the Four Crown Nationals over the weekend, which featured four, $2,000 to win events. The opener was held on Thursday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi. Via qualifications Breazeale locked into the third starting position for the feature, and Henderson locked into the 12th starting spot after finishing second in his b-main. However before the feature could be run, heavy rains set in forcing the feature to be postponed to August 13th.

On Friday night, the team invaded Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, Mississippi. Breazeale would once again lock into the third starting spot for the feature after qualifying second fastest in his group. He move up to the second spot by lap ten, and a few laps later he would race past Kyle Beard to take the lead. He would never look back en route to the $2,000 win!

Leon Henderson would have a rough night as he destroyed a car in time trials after making hard contact with the turn three wall. He would unload a backup car to utilize a provisional start 24th on the feature grid. He would go on to advance to an 18th place finish.

Saturday found the team at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for Round #3 of the Four Crown Nationals. David locked into the tenth starting position for the feature after laying down the 4th fastest time in his group in qualifications. Despite starting midpack, he would begin marching to the front early in the event as he utilized the high line. By lap 20 he was up to the third spot, and over the next several laps he along with Bub McCool and Jimbo McDuffie would battle three wide for the lead. David would eventually dispose of McDuffie as he moved into the second spot, but he would not be able to pass McCool. He would be credited with a second place finish at the checkered flag.

Leon Henderson would battle the setup throughout the night and would ultimately fall just short of qualifying for the main event as his night came to an early end.

On Sunday, Henderson Motorsports entered the final round of the Four Crown Nationals at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. With 46 cars entered into the event, the feature would find Breazeale starting sixth, and he quickly worked his way into the top five. On a lap 24 restart, he raced past race leader, Chad Thrash, to take over the lead and went on to lead the final sixteen laps to claim his second win of the weekend, and his fifth win of the season!

For the second night in a row, Leon would battle an ill-handling car as he struggled to find the right combination. He would once again fall short of qualifying for the main event.

David Breazeale continues to lead the PRO Dirt Car Series standings and Leon Henderson currently sits 13th in the latest standings.

Both drivers will be in action this weekend in the Lucas Oil Late Model Series sanctioned, Clash At The Mag, which will be held at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. The event will be highlighted by a $20,000 to win/$1,000 to start, 100 lap feature. On Friday time trials and heat race action will be held, and on Saturday b-mains and the 100 lap feature will be held.
