Chad Thrash Records Pair of Top Five Finishes

Meridian, Mississippi (07/07/10) – Chad Thrash entered two events over the holiday weekend in his #1c Tomkat of Chunky/Rocket/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model in P.R.O. Dirt Car (PRO) Super Late Model Series action.

The team was back in action on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for a $2,000 to win, PRO Dirt Car Series sanctioned event in Round #3 of the Four Crown Nationals. Chad started the night by qualifying second fastest in his group to earn the sixth starting spot for the main event. He would hover just outside the top five for much of the event before mounting a late race charge to the front of the pack, and by the time that the checkered flag dropped he was credited with a fourth place finish behind event winner, Bub McCool, David Breazeale, and Ronny Lee Hollingsworth.

Sunday night the team traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway for the final leg of the Four Crown Nationals in what proved to be an extremely frustrating night. With 46 Super Late Models entered, Chad started the night by setting fast time in his group to start in the second position for the 40 lap, $2,000 to win feature. He would bolt to the lead at the drop of the green flag and would build as much as a straightaway lead in the first ten laps of the event as it appeared he was on his way to his second win of 2010. However, a series of cautions slowed the event near its midway point, and on a lap 24 restart, the cars on the second row for the double file restart fired early, pulling alongside Thrash before the cone. Much to his dismay Chad would get shuffled back to the third spot as the race remained green flag. He would go on to finish third in the event, and despite a post race protest of the restart, he would still just be credited with a disappointing third place finish.

This weekend the team is preparing their equipment for the 2nd Annual Clash At The Mag, which will feature a $20,000 to win/$1,000 to start event. The program will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. On Friday, time trials and heat race action will be held, while Saturday will see b-main action as well as the 100 lap finale.
