Tazewell Speedway welcomes World of Outlaws for first visit

Tazewell, Tennessee - Tazewell Speedway welcomes the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Saturday, July 3. It will be the series' first ever visit to the 1/3-mile speedway. The Coca-Cola 50 is a $10,000 to win event that will draw in the top WoOLMS competitors as well as many of the top regional drivers from across the area.

Defending series champion Josh Richards sits atop the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings. Richards will be one of several drivers making his first ever visit to Tazewell Speedway. Richards is locked in a tight points battle with 2006 champion Tim McCreadie. The 2008 champion, Darrell Lanigan, sits third in series points with the 2007 champion Steve Francis and Tim Fuller sitting fourth and fifth respectively.

Other drivers expected for the Coca-Cola 50 are Vic Hill, Rick Rogers, Tommy Kerr, Steve Smith, and track record holder Jeff Wolfenbarger.

Also racing will be the Tazewell late models, modified streets, and classic cars. The Tazewell Late Models will be racing for $1,200 to win.

Tickets are $27 for adults, children 10 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Racing will begin at 7:30.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
