Triple Crown Shootout and Double Points on the Line During Huge Weekend of Racing for ULMA Drivers!

The ULMA “Triple Crown Shootout” presented by Mr. G’s Liquor, West Highway 50 in California, Missouri, will officially begin on Thursday, July 1 at Lucas Oil Speedway.  The huge weekend of racing continues on Friday, July 2 Central Missouri Speedway and Callaway Raceway, and then concludes on Saturday, July 3 at Central Missouri Speedway at the track’s annual late model special event.  All ULMA members receive double point finishes over the three-night race period regardless if they enter the Triple Crown Shootout or not.  The double point finishes will help make up some of the lost racing due to the seventeen rain-outs experienced so far this season.  Central Missouri Speedway has waived its track registration fee for the entire race weekend of its annual track late model special.  The Triple Crown Shootout entry is separate from the CMS track special entry fee.  Triple Crown Shootout entries will be available at Lucas Oil Speedway for drivers wishing to enter this special event.

Triple Crown Shootout entrants will be eligible for added cash and contingency prizes from affiliated tracks and sponsors.  Event entries and complete details are on the main page of the official ULMA web site at www.ulmaracing.com.  Entry for the event is just $40 for member drivers … only member drivers who enter the Triple Crown Shootout are eligible for added contingencies and cash prizes as part of the Triple Crown Event.  ULMA wishes to thank Mr. G’s Liquor, J&T Racing Supplies, TCI, RacingJunk.com, Rod End Supply, Lucas Oil Speedway, Central Missouri Speedway, and Callaway Raceway for their support of the Triple Crown Shootout.

The ULMA Triple Crown Shootout begins this Thursday at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks for ULMA competitors.  For complete details be sure to log onto www.lucasoilspeedway.com regarding the 2010 season at Lucas Oil Speedway.  Last Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway Ben Solberg of Springfield posted his strongest finish of the season with a solid second place run in the main event one spot ahead of defending track champion Tommy Cordray.  Andy Kennedy and Trace Westling again posted top five finishes with Harlen Kennedy, R.D. Peterson, Danny Lorton, Chris Cox, and Zeke Langley all finishing inside the top ten.  Thirteen member drivers were present among the seventeen total drivers on hand.   Double ULMA finish points are on the line for the feature event on Thursday night.

Night two of the Triple Crown Shootout will take place at Callaway Raceway this Friday night July 2, log onto www.callawayraceways.com for complete race information and schedule details.  Over all point leader Bob Test kept his string of top five results alive by coming home a strong second place last Friday at Callaway.  Trace Westling and Chris Cox also found themselves inside the top five at the end of the night.  Danny Lorton and James Stafford were the other two ULMA members inside the top ten in the main event.  Of sixteen competitors on hand, nine were ULMA members.  Double ULMA finish points are on the line for the feature race at Callaway on Friday night.

Several drivers are expected to compete at the CMS track special event this weekend to close out the Triple Crown Shootout on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3, when there will be $1,500 up for grabs to the winner of the special 30-lap feature event.  Event information and entries may be found at www.ulmaracing.com and www.centralmissourispeedway.net.  The speedway has waived its registration fee for the entire Independence Day weekend in ALL its racing divisions and extended the date to save on entries to postmark by Wednesday, June 30.  Jason Bodenhamer continued his string of solid runs by coming away with second place last Saturday at CMS, Bob Test and Kevin Coyne also ran inside the top five at the end of the night, it was Coyne’s strongest run so far this season in his new GRT.  Brian Pipes, Ashley Lancaster, John Pipes, Jimmy Jobe, and Zach Green all posted finishes inside the top ten.  It was a tough night for several drivers including Shawn Rayfield, Brett Wood, Steve Clancy, and John Binning, all of whom fell out of the feature race before its conclusion.   Double ULMA finish points are on the line for Friday’s scramble event and Saturday’s feature event at CMS.

ULMA drivers will assist with the Homes for Our Troops, Turning Left for Our Troops fundraiser, which will take place at Central Missouri Speedway on Saturday, July 3.  The ULMA HFOT Late Model and Gogetem Racing HFOT Modified will be on display and competing in the night’s racing action.  Just three weeks ago, ULMA members collected over $400 at Callaway Raceway for this great cause and over $1,000 last weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway.  The Homes for Our Troops organization was founded in 2004 and is strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001.  To contribute to the organization through ULMA, send donations in the form of check or money order to ULMA, P.O. Box 794, Moberly, Mo, 65270.
