Summer Spectacular special postponed to July 6
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (June 28) – Tomorrow night’s Summer Spectacular special at Hamilton County Speedway has been postponed until next Tuesday, July 6.
Both the infield and racing surface at the Webster City venue were underwater this weekend, promoter Al Uhrhammer reported, and there simply wasn’t enough time to prepare a safe track for the originally announced race date.
No changes have been made in the race program, purses or bonuses for the rescheduled race night.
IMCA Late Models run for $2,500 to win, a minimum of $300 to start and shares of lap money in their 50-circuit contest. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $400 to win while first place in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature pays $300.
All three classes vie for IMCA national and Allstar Performance State points. Probe Industries Northern Region points will also be given to Hobby Stock drivers. Entry fee for Late Models is $50. There is no entry fee for SportMods or Hobby Stocks.
Hot laps start at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
Admission to the grandstand is $15 for adults, $7 for kids ages 7-13 and six and under get in free. Family passes (two adults and two kids) are $35. Pit passes are $25. More information is available by calling 515 832-5382 or 515 899-2222.
