Who: The 4th Annual Firecracker presented by GottaRace.com is a World of Outlaws Late Model Series-sanctioned event. As such, previous champions Scott Bloomquist (2007), Brian Birkhofer (2008) and Jimmy Mars (2009) are pre-registered for the $30,000 Mega Event.

In addition to the previous champions, these touring/affiliated drivers of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will be in action; Josh Richards, Chub Frank, Darrell Lanigan, Steve Francis, Rick Eckert, Clint Smith, Shane Clanton, Tim McCreadie, Tim Fuller, Brady Smith, Vic Coffey, Russell King, Brent Robinson, Tyler Reddick, Austin Hubbard and Jill George.

Lernerville Speedway’s Budweiser Points leader Dave Hess Jr. and Jared Miley are registered for the event and locked in to the 100-lap Firecracker Finale. Hess won last Friday Night’s Mid-Season Championship and the track provisional that goes along with it. Miley is second in points, and has the other track provisional since Hess is locked in via the Mid-Season Championship provisional. Other Lernerville regulars that are pre-registered to compete this weekend include Gregg Satterlee, Alex Ferree, Lynn Geisler, Matt Lux, Dave Murdick, Ken Schaltenbrand, John Garvin Jr., Michael Norris, Tony Burke, Herman Bertolini, Nick Reges and Jason Fosnaught.

Regional drivers Rick “Boom” Briggs, Robbie Blair, Ron Davies, Jeremy Miller, Davey Johnson, Mike Johnson, Doug Drown, Chris Casner and Corey Conley are all expected to stake their claim for the $30,000-to-win, 100-lap shootout.

Dale McDowell, driver of the Clint Bowyer Motorsports #17M, is registered for the event; as are Bobby Labonte Racing drivers Earl Pearson Jr. and Brad Neat. Other nationally known Late Model drivers like Jimmy Owens, John Blankenship and Will Vaught are registered, while names like Bart Hartman, Chris Ferguson, Jamie Lathroum, Bub McCool, Dan Schlieper, Dan Stone and Steve Shaver are rumored to be throwing their hats in the Firecracker ring!

Why: To crown a $30,000+ Firecracker 100 Champion. The winner’s purse is $30,000; the “+” comes into the equation with monies won during preliminary competition on Thursday and Friday Nights’ complete $6,000-to-win show. The possibility exists that a driver could leave Lernerville Speedway with $42,000 in their pocket!

Where to Stay: Reserved Camping is available on site, but was sold out as of June 1! Reserved camping provides a flat space with proximity to the pits. General Camping will also be available free of charge on a first come, first serve basis, but will be further away from the track. There are no electric/water hookups in either area.

The Days Inn in Butler, PA is the top recommendation for travelers planning to stay at a hotel. The Days Inn in Butler is located 10 miles from the speedway on route 8 just south of Butler. The Days Inn has an indoor pool, on-site restaurant & lounge and is in close proximity to a handful of restaurants including McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Burger King.

Fans of Lernerville Speedway can also get a discounted rate at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Butler, PA. With a few more amenities and services, the Fairfield standard rate for Lernerville Speedway fans is just $109 plus 9% occupancy tax. The Fairfield Inn & Suites can be reached at (724) 283-0009.

Other nearby towns with hotels include (arranged in order of proximity) Butler, Kittanning, New Kensington, Cranberry Twp. and Harmar Twp. Of those locations, while a little but further away, The Days Inn in Harmar Twp. probably provides the second best option to Butler as it is a short, easy trip down routes 356 & 28 and the area is loaded with restaurants, hotels and retail options.

How to get involved: As mentioned above, the 4th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com is more than a Three-Day World of Outlaws Late Model Series Race weekend; it’s a total fan experience! Over the course of the weekend, fans can watch and even participate in activities off the track.

On Thursday Night, after time trials, heat races, Last Chance Showdowns and a $6,000-to-win, 30-lap WoO LMS Feature, the Joe Patrick Band will rock the crowd with a rousing concert in the parking lot, free of charge!

Friday afternoon’s slate includes a Hot Dog Eating Contest and a Best Tailgating Party & Best Camp Site Contest. Fans can sign up for the Hot Dog Eating Contest at the Lernerville Souvenir Trailer Thursday Night. After the Hot Dog Eating Contest, the fine folks from Budweiser will browse the parking lots and camping areas for the Best Tailgating Party and Best Camp Site. Another complete WoO LMS Show highlighted by a $6,000-to-win, 30-lap Feature will be followed by a dazzling fireworks display by Premier Pyrotechnics and another concert in the parking lot with National Recordings Artist Vanessa Campagna and Firecracker fan favorite NoMAD.

The off-track fan festivities resume Saturday afternoon with the Annual Driver/Fan Horseshoe Tournament at 12:00. Fans will be selected Thursday and Friday Nights. Following the Horseshoe Tournament, we will crown a new Lernerville Trophy Girl in the Ms. Firecracker Pageant starting at 2:00. The fan interaction peaks with a pre-race Driver Autograph Session under the grandstands at 4:00. As mentioned above, you can get priority access to the Driver Autograph Session by purchasing your tickets in advance!

And finally, the pits will be open to all fans after all racing has come to a close after the 4th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com 100-lap Feature. Fans of all ages can see their favorite drivers and cars up close and personal! The perfect end to what promises to be a FANtastic weekend!!
