Mountain Raceway Park hosts Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series Maryville, TN (6-7-10) Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, Tennessee will play host, for the third straight year in early June, to the cars and stars of the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series June 12th.
The program will be headlined with a $5,000 to win, fifty-lap A-Main for super late models plus a full slate of local divisions competing for double points. It will also be the first round in the Hot Summer Nights Tire Fights Series, a very successful series that kicked off the summer last year at the 4/10 mile Kevin and Sherry Coffey promoted dirt oval situated in the beautiful foothills of east Tennessee.
This event has provided race fans with some of the most memorable moments, not only at Mountain Raceway, but for the twenty-eight year old touring series; America’s longest running Dirt Late Model Tour. Each previous winner went on to win respective Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series Championships; Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala, Florida in 2008 and Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tennessee in 2009.
The series ran it’s tenth event of the season on May 22nd, nearly reaching the half-way point of the 2010 campaign with at least as many events remaining. A great points battle is shaping up among the top seven competitors and there has only been one repeat winner so far in ten events; Jonathan Davenport of Blairesville, Georgia with victories at Cleveland Speedway’s $10,000 to win Shamrock in March and Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia for a $5,000 to win event in May.
Pits are scheduled to open at Mountain Raceway Park on Saturday June 12th at 2pm with the grandstands and tier parking opening at 4pm. Adult grandstand admission will be $20 with tier parking $25 and pit admission will be $35.
Additional information will be forthcoming and fans can log onto the track’s website at
