Southern AllStars EAST Series begins summer stretch Friday June 4th at Cherokee Speedway

The Southern AllStars EAST Series is getting geared up for a 5 race stretch into the summer season. Point’s leader Johnny Pursley brings the touring series into Cherokee Speedway Friday June 4th for its second event of the season. This is a make-up date from last month and a not so common Friday Night event at the speedway. Drivers meeting scheduled for 7 pm. Divisions & 1st place money: SAS EAST 40 lap Main Event ($3,000), Limited Sportsman ($700), Street Stock 4 ($500), Pure Stock ($400), Xtreme 4 ($400) & Young Guns ($300).

A short 4 days later the SAS EAST will visit the Historic Laurens Speedway Tuesday June 8th for the fan favorite ‘Laurens County Shrine Race’. Tennessee hotshoe Skip Arp already has this date marked on his schedule – as does Chris 'Smokey' Madden who cut his teeth on the high banked 3/8ths speed bowl. Make your plans to support the Shriners and enjoy a great night of racing.

The SAS EAST will wind down the month of June with a double header weekend as they roll back into Cherokee Speedway Friday June 25th for the 12th Annual $7,000 Grassy Smith Memorial. The following night Saturday June 26th the series makes a first ever stop at the track dubbed the ‘Little Diamond’ at I-77 Speedway in Chester S.C. for the much anticipated 4th Annual $5,500 Robert Pursley Memorial. Additional purse and bonus money is still coming in for this race from fans and race sponsors.

Then the SAS EAST Series will close out the 5 race summer stretch in a big way at Cherokee Speedway with a massive fireworks display and the Annual $4,000 Independence Shootout on Saturday night July 3rd. The series will take the remainder of July off and resume August 14th.
