Billy Moyer Jr. Makes Noise at 18th Annual Show Me 100

Batesville, Arkansas (06/02/10) –Billy Moyer Jr. enjoyed the most impressive weekend of his young career and powered his #21jr Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer Chassis/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to a pair of solid finishes.

Billy Moyer Jr. and Jr. Motorsports had a break-through weekend at the 18th Annual DART Show Me 100 over the weekend. The program got underway on Friday night as 73 of the nation's best Super Late Model drivers entered the $30,000 to win event.

In Red Buck Cigars Time Trials, he recorded the 12th fastest time to earn the outside front row starting spot for a heat race next to his Dad, Billy Moyer. Bad luck would strike Moyer Jr. before his heat race when his motor dropped a cylinder, while warming up. He made the decision to go ahead and give the heat race a shot, and it proved to be a good decision as he picked up a second place finish to lock into the 12th starting spot for the 100 lap finale. By qualifying for the feature Billy made history by qualifying for his first ever Show Me 100 feature event.

In the feature, Billy would battle around midpack early in the event before his car began to come to him. As the race approached the midway point, Moyer Jr. raced his way to the third position and briefly took the second spot from Ray Cook. Over the latter stages of the race, Billy would once again battle throughout the top five before recording a great 6th place finish in the mega-event behind event winner, Ray Cook, Don O’Neal, Terry Phillips, Eric Wells, and Dennis Erb Jr. Full results are available at www.lucasdirt.com .

Sunday night found Billy at Tri City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois for the $10,000 to win, FedEx 50. Forty-one Super Late Models entered the event, and he started the night by laying down a blistering lap in time trials to qualify in the 3rd position behind Don O'Neal and Dale McDowell. Via his time trial effort, he earned the pole position for his heat race and went on to win it in convincing fashion.

After winning the heat race he locked into the dash, where he finished third to earn the third starting spot for the feature. Early in the 50 lap feature Billy would slip to the fourth spot before charging around Jason Feger to retake the third spot. Once in the third spot he began pressuring Shannon Babb for the second position. However, passing would become difficult by the event's midway point, and Moyer Jr. would be unable to advance any further. He went on to record a third place finish behind Babb and event winner, Billy Moyer.

Billy and Jr. Motorsports are now focused on the Northern All Stars Tri State Challenge that was scheduled to begin on Wednesday night at Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois, but was nixed by rain. He will compete in the following events over the remainder of the week:
June 3rd: Shepp’s Speedway (Alexander, Illinois) - $5,000 To Win
June 4th: Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) - $5,000 To Win
June 5th: I-55 Raceway (Pevely, Missouri) - $5,000 To Win
