FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – June 2, 2010 - A huge weekend of racing await the regulars of the O’Reilly/NCRA late model division and late model fans everywhere as drivers across the Midwest prepare for a triple header weekend beginning this Friday night as the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas hosts the two day “Sunflower State Showdown” with Saturday nights 50 lap feature finale paying a huge $10,000 to the winner. All drivers earning a spot in the finale will earn $700 just to start. But that’s not all! Following the two nights at Great American Dirt Track, drivers will head to North to the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas for a Sunday night spectacular with $3000 going to that nights feature winner with $500 for all feature finale starters. All three nights will also be point’s races for the MARS DIRT Car series while the two day Sunflower State Showdown will be a point’s event for the CLMA DIRT Car series.

While it is with rare occurrence to see a $10,000 to win event with the series, it has happened just one previous time with Coffeyville, Kansas veteran and former series champion Al Purkey picking up ten grand at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas back in 1997.

New year, same verse as current series points leader Kelly Boen of Henderson, Colorado will lead the stars and cars of the National Championship Racing Association late model series into the weekends three day events. Fresh off his first ever victory at the annual “Alphabet Soup” at 1-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska this past weekend, Boen currently holds a 105 point advantage over Atlantic, Iowa’s Jason O’Brien. Dean Moore of Grand Junction, Colorado and Corey Zeitner of Bellevue, Nebraska currently sit tied for third in the point standings, just 115 points behind Boen. Leading late model rookie of the year contender José Kaser of Lincoln, Nebraska is currently fifth in the point standings.

Other series regulars rounding out the top ten in the point standings include Jerry Warner (Lavesta, Nebraska), Shawn Harker (Plattsmouth, Nebraska), Wylan Petrie (Solomon, Kansas), Purkey and Bill Koon’s (Omaha).

Defending series champion Kyle Beck of Marquette, Nebraska will also be competing all three nights as will Eddie Kirchoff (Gillette, Wyoming) and former series champion Delbert Smith (Wichita).

The MARS Dirt car series will come locked and loaded with their drivers as well, led by current series points leader Eric Turner of Hermitage, Missouri. Turner comes into the weekend with a 70 point advantage over four time series champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, Missouri. Other series regulars expected to compete include Jeremy Payne (Springfield), Jack Sullivan (Greenbrier, Arkansas), current series rookie of the year leader Gary Christian (Broken Bow, Oklahoma), Wendell Wallace (Batesville), Dustin and Darrell Mooney ham (Verona, Missouri), Ryland Long (Greenfield, Missouri), Will Vaught (Crane, Missouri) Justin Aslpin (Birchtree, Missouri) and Justin Wells (Aurora, Missouri).

CLMA Dirtcar series will also be making their presence felt led by current series points leader the above mentioned Kirchoff, Jason Schierkolk (Casper, Wyoming), 2009 series champion Dave Garman (Millican, Colorado), Scott Lewis (Henderson), Ed Kirchoff (Gillette), Scott Cimfi , J.T. Botts, and Chris Cox.

With such a huge event that drivers will want to be a part of, several non-series regulars are expected as well. They include John Anderson (Omaha), Bill Frye, Chad Simpson, Zac Simmons (Erie, Kansas), Joe Kosiski (Omaha), Jimmy Mars (Menomoni, Wisconsin) just to name a few.
