Tazewell Speedway gears up for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

Tazewell, Tennessee - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series make their annual return to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, June 4th. The Toyota of Knoxville 75 is one of the longest running races with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The race has been with the series since its first season in 2005 and is one of the most popular stops on the tour.

This year's $10,000 to win race is expected to draw some of the top regional stars of dirt late model racing to go head-to-head with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regulars.

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN leads the series standings heading into Friday night's race. Defending race winner Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN is second in the series standings just 70 points behind Bloomquist. Earl Pearson Jr., Don O'Neal, and Ray Cook round out the top 5 in the series standings.

Other drivers expected for the Toyota of Knoxville 75 are Billy Ogle Jr., Vic Hill, Rick Rogers, Tommy Kerr, Steve Smith, and track record holder Jeff Wolfenbarger.

Also racing will be the modified streets, pure streets, and classic cars.

Tickets are $25 for adults, children 10 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Racing will begin at 7:30.

The Tazewell Motor Lodge is the official host hotel for Tazewell Speedway.
