MARS takes on the Jet and the High BanksThe Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, KS (The Jet) hosts the MARS DIRTcar Series and the O’Reilly NCRA in a $10,000 to win, 50 lap slobber-knocker that will feature the nations top Super Late Model Drivers in the 1st annual Sunflower State Showdown June 4 – 5, 2010.
Witness all the “slideways” action as the MARS DIRTcar Series goes head to head with the O’Reilly NCRA. Driver’s expected to be in attendance include: 5-time MARS champion Terry Phillips; 4-time NCRA champion Kelly Boen; 2009 MARS Rookie of the year Eric Turner; 2-time NCRA champion Al Purkey; 2007 MARS Rookie of the year Jeremy Payne; Corey Zeitner, Jack Sullivan, Delbert Smith, Gary Christian, Bill Koons, Rylan Long, Dean Moore, Darrell Mooneyham, Jason O’Brien, Dustin Mooneyham, Jerry Warner, Chad Simpson, Jase Kaser and many more!
Drivers will have three chances to qualify. Friday June 4th, will be sign-in and draw for heats. Heat races will be ran to determine starting positions. The top 22 drivers in passing points will participate in the Qualifying Event with the Top eight finishers transferring to the A-Main event on Saturday night and will make up rows 1 – 4. On Saturday June 5th, the top eight from the June 4th Qualifying Event will run an eight lap Dash. How they finish in the Dash will determine where they start for the A-Main event in rows 1 through 4. All other drivers will redraw for heat race starting positions. The top eight in passing points from these heat races will automatically transfer to the A-Main, making up rows 5 through 8. All remaining drivers will participate in one of two B-Main events. The top two finishers from each of these B-Main Events will transfer to the A-Main, making up rows 9 and 10. Rows 11 and 12 will be determined by accumulated (Provisional) points with the MARS DIRTcar Series and the O’Reilly NCRA. Row 13 will consist of only one car, giving a total of 25 cars starting the A-Main. MARS DIRTcar Series rules will apply. Tire rule is LM40 and WRS55. A practice session will be held on Thursday June 3rd from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Pit passes for Thursday are $10. $30 for Friday and Saturday.
