Volunteer Racing Series heads to Boyd’s and North Georgia on May 28/29HARRIMAN, TN - Its been over a month since the last Volunteer Racing Series event when Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN claimed victory at Boyd’s Speedway back on April 16th.
The VRS Late Model gang will head back to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Friday Night May 28th for a $3,000 to win then head a little further south to the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA for the first of three trips on Saturday Night May 29th.
The event on Friday Night at the Gar Dickson promoted Boyd’s Speedway will feature the VRS Late Models racing for $3,000 to win / $250 to start during the 2nd Annual Georgia Memorial race. The Steel Head Late Models ($1,000 to win), A-Hobby and B-Hobby, and Front Wheel Drive divisions will be racing as well. Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN won last year’s Inaugural Georgia Memorial Race.
The Saturday Night event at the Timmy Milwood and Tom Peters promoted facility of North Georgia Speedway will feature the VRS Late Models for a $3,000 to win / $250 to start event while the Crate Late Models, Econo Hobby, Modified Hobby, Stock Pony and Modified Pony will be on the racing card as well.
There will be a complete show of practice, Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the 40-lap Main event each night. The VRS Late Model tire rule is as follows: Open Front, Hoosier 1600 (shoulder plated) and American Racer MD-56 on the REAR. It is mandatory that these tires punch 60 with the durometer before any qualifying or race.
The gates open at 3:00 pm EST with Hot Laps slated for 6:30 pm at Boyd's Speedway. Adult Grandstand Admission will be $15.00 with Pit Passes being $30.00.
