Josh McGuire Records First Win of 2010 in Thunder Forty at Skyline; Big Doubleheader Ahead!(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team reached victory lane for the first time in 2010 on Friday night, April 30 at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio! Josh McGuire, who sports a very high win percentage at Skyline, swept the night's racing program. After laying down the quickest lap in qualifying and winning his heat race, Josh led flag-to-flag in the unsanctioned 'Thunder Forty' to claim the $2,000 winner's check. The Grayson, Kentucky native took the loot back to the Commonwealth of Kentucky after defeating Chris Garnes, K.C. Burdette, Larry Bond, and Chris Carpenter.
The #41 team was then slated to invade the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday evening, May 1. The O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series (ASLMS) was scheduled to sanction the $10,000 to win 'Dirt Track World Cup Classic,' but Mother Nature had other ideas and the 75-lap race was postponed due to rain. “Skyline has been very good to me in the past and last Friday night was no exception,” quoted McGuire earlier this week via telephone. “Our C.J. Rayburn car was phenomenal all night long and I have to thank him for building us a great racecar. It is a new car and I figured there was no better place than Skyline to shake it down. We needed this win and hopefully it gives us some confidence heading into Rocky Top and 201 this weekend!”
The team has now set their sights on a pair of unsanctioned races this upcoming weekend (May 7-8) in the states of Ohio and Kentucky. The Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio will play host to a $5,000 to win event on Friday night, while the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky will hold a $3,000 to win show on Saturday evening. Josh has found success at both venues throughout his career, so look for “Bad Fast” to be up front this weekend! Additional information on the doubleheader weekend can be obtained online at
