COMP Cams MSRA Double Shot, Take Two

Beebe, Arkansas (05/04/10) – After seeing last weekend’s events washed away by Mother Nature, the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model tour will take a second shot at the double header this weekend as the series travels to USA Speedway and 67 Speedway.

Flash flooding, tornadoes, and high winds forced the postponement of last weekend’s events to this weekend, May 7th-8th.

With only two events in the books defending COMP Cams MSRA Champion, Billy Moyer Jr., who won both opening events, currently sits atop the point standings with the tour’s only other Champion, Joey Mack, residing in the second spot. Rounding out the top ten drivers in the current standings are Jon Mitchell (Texas), Kyle Beard (Arkansas), Dewaine Hottinger (Arkansas), Austin Rettig (Missouri), Jeff Sloan (Missouri), Jeff Floyd (Arkansas), Terry Henson (Arkansas), Charlie Cole (Arkansas), and Brandon Smith (Arkansas).

The Kuntz & Company Rookie of the Year competition is starting to take form with Charlie Cole and Brandon Smith deadlocked atop the standings with a slim advantage over Shane Stephens and Wesley Crutchfield.

This weekend the tour will see a host of drivers look to drop in on the action and escape with the winner’s loot. In addition the drivers in the top ten in points, other competitors, who have already voiced an intent to compete in one or both of this weekend’s events include Jon Kirby, Wesley Crutchfield, Eddie Provence, Bill Frye, Kyle Cummings, Clay Fisher, Robbie Stuart, Allen Tippen, Kenny Merchant, and many more!

The weekend will get underway with a pair of firsts for the tour as they make their first ever trip to Louisiana, and they also make their first ever trip to the brand new USA Speedway in Sterlington, Louisiana. The ¼ mile oval will host a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 30 lap event on Friday, May 7th. Gates open at 4pm with racing action at 8pm.
