FASTRAK NORTHEAST/MOV TOURING SERIES FEATURE AT TYLER COUNTY SATURDAY POSTPONED TO MAY 15

By Mike Leone
Middlebourne, WV…The cars and stars of the FASTRAK Northeast and Mid-Ohio Valley Late Model Touring Series convened at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on Saturday night for event number two on each Series’ respected schedules. Despite rain throughout much of the surrounding areas and an unfavorable forecast that kept many racers from making the tow, 30 teams completed preliminary action before the rain finally won out just before the feature was set to hit the ¼-mile “Bullring”.

FASTRAK Northeast/MOV and Tyler County Speedway management looked at various scenarios and have decided to conclude the 25-lap feature first thing on the Saturday, May 15 program at Tyler County. Following the Northeast/MOV make-up feature, racers will be able to compete in the track’s regularly scheduled $500 to-win program. This comes the night before the inaugural FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series event at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia.

“Anytime you get into rain during a race night it makes for a tough deal,” acknowledged fourth year Northeast Co-Director Vicki Emig. “We’ll only be returning to Tyler County one more time this season and that’s not until Labor Day Weekend. That’s already a jammed packed night and weekend so that option was out. Obviously no one wanted to lose this event so we felt the best scenario was to make the feature up on May 15. The Northeast doesn’t have another Touring event until May 29 plus it allows racers the ability to race in Tyler’s regular program and then stay and compete at West Virginia the following day for the MOV event if they choose to do so. A driver has the potential to win $3,200 in two nights of action now!”

The $1,500 to-win feature field is set; however, alternates will be used to fill the 24-car starting field if any qualified driver fails to return. While no new cars will be able to compete in the make-up, they’ll obviously be permitted to run Tyler’s regular program and Sunday’s $1,200 MOV show at WVMS. Any driver failing to return will receive their show-up points if they are members and $75 tow money.

Heat winners on Saturday were Max Blair, Shawn Jett, K.C. Burdette, and Josh Holtgraver. Kris Southern won the B main.
