Davenport Speedway Season Opener Delayed by Rain … Again

DAVENPORT, Ia. (April 30, 2010) – For the second straight week, rain has washed out the Koehler Electric Season Opener at the Davenport Speedway.

The season opener will be held next Friday, May 7th, weather permitting. All six weekly classes will be competing: Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, Goacher Towing Pro Mods, Engineered Maintenance Service IMCA Modifieds, Koehler Electric Street Stocks, 4 Cylinder Stocks, and Bulltown Legends of Iowa INEX Legend Cars.  

Pit gates at Davenport open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5pm. Hot laps are at 6pm and racing starts at 6:30pm.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport.

Due to rain, Brushcreek Motorsports has canceled the opening night activities for May 1st. The next race is May 8th, regular classes plus an enduro.

Mother Nature Wins Paducah International Raceway Lucas Oil Weekend

PADUCAH, KY (May 1, 2010) - With the continuation of severe storms battering the surrounding Paducah International Raceway areas, Lucas Oil and Paducah officials have cancelled round five of the Sunoco Race Fuels Road to Wheatland scheduled for this weekend. Officials are looking at alternate dates and should have a decision in the near future.

The next event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be the sixth round of the Sunoco Race Fuels Road to Wheatland for 2010. The series will be headed to Beckley Motor Speedway on May 14, 2010 followed by a visit to Wythe Raceway on May 15, 2010.

Please remember all of the folks who were in the path of these storms overnight.

Mother Nature takes another victory at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, May 2 as just too much rain and mud have made it impossible to race this evening. The Rock Solid Hunting Preserve Mother Day at the Races is up next at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, May 9.
