Holley Performance gives awards in five IMCA divisions

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (April 29) – A familiar name in the high performance industry returns this season as a contingency award sponsor for five IMCA divisions.

Holley Performance will give post-season prizes to IMCA Modified, IMCA Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMod drivers competing with carburetors manufactured by the Bowling Green, Ky., company.

SportMod awards had been added in 2008, Holley’s most recent year as an IMCA sponsor.

“We believe IMCA is a sanctioning body for the upper end of the grassroots racer. Those are the drivers who support us by buying our products,” said Bill Tichenor, director of marketing for Holley. “We had to pull back a lot of our marketing in 2009 because of the economy.”

“Like a lot of companies, we were unsure of what 2009 would be like. We actually did better in 2009 than we thought we would,” he continued, “and decided that we needed to get back into programs like the one we have this year with IMCA.”

Top eligible drivers in each of the five Modified regions receive 750 cfm HP carburetors. Cash or product certificates for $350, $250, $100 and $100 go to the next four drivers. Top eligible drivers in point standings for each SportMod class get 500 cfm carburetors, with $175 for second, $125 for third and $50 for fourth and fifth.

Holley will give each of the top three eligible drivers in the two Stock Car regions a 350 cfm carburetor. Fourth and fifth place drivers each get $100, while sixth through 10th earn $50 each.

Both the national Late Model rookie of the year and the Deery Brothers Summer Series rookie of the year earn 4150 series carburetors.

Stock Car drivers are required to display two Holley decals on their race cars; Modified and SportMod drivers must complete and return a sign-up form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1.

“We have something for drivers in every division now and we’ve got new products coming out later this year,” Tichenor said. “We have a new CEO who is an actual car guy and that’s important. There’s a new passion in this company for racing and hot rodding and our focus is strictly on high performance products.”

Information about those products is available by calling 270 781-9741 and at the www.holley.com website.

"We place a high value on Holley-manufactured products as evidenced by how often their carburetors are required in our rules,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “We were disappointed they were not a part of our sponsor contingent last season but couldn't be happier to have them back on board in 2010. The future looks bright for Holley and we plan on working with them in the foreseeable future."

Design 500 IMCA award program sports Deery, special events, Lady Eagle prizes

SEATTLE, Wash. (May 6) – Design 500 continues one of the broadest-based contingency programs for IMCA drivers in 2010, renewing awards for Deery Brothers Summer Series, Modified special events and female competitors.

Fifth place feature finishers at each of 16 Late Model tour events and at 30 designated specials for Modifieds receive $150 product certificates. Tenth place finishers get $100 certificates and 15th place finishers get $50 certificates.

All female drivers are also eligible to receive Lady Eagle awards, based on points earned at sanctioned events, from the Seattle, Wash., driver suit and apparel manufacturer.

The top finisher in combined point standings for all divisions earns a complete set of custom No Fly Zone Pro-Tek CarbonX underwear, which includes a long-sleeved mock turtleneck, long pants, headsock and socks. The 10th place finisher in points receives a No Fly Zone Pro-Tek CarbonX tank and undershorts. The 15th place finisher in points earns a $100 product certificate and CarbonX socks.

Lady Eagle standings, again based on IMCA’s 40-point system, will be published in the monthly newsletter and updated weekly on the IMCA website.

A drawing will be held to give away $300 product certificates, good toward the purchase of a driver’s suit, to female competitors in each division at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

Information about Design 500 products is available by calling 206 447-9860 and at the www.design500.com website.

"Charting the success of our female competitors has become very popular and a great way to partner with Design 500 and Lady Eagle Safetywear to recognize their accomplishments,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “We have had three very deserving winners in the past three seasons and are eager to see who will prevail this year."
