NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 5 PREVIEW

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 5 of the 2010 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series has 13 events on the schedule with five races in the West Region and eight races in the East Region. After the first complete washout in the five-year history of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series last weekend, fans and competitors are ready for some racing action.

Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR and North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL open the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region competition on Friday night. Saturday night West Region races will be held at A1 Raceway in Slidell, LA, Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will open its 2010 points season.

Penton Raceway in Penton, AL will begin NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region action on Friday night, and Saturday night East Region events are scheduled for 441 Speedway in Dublin, GA, East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN, New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, Shelby County Speedway in Wilsonville, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The defending and three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS leads the West Region point standings, and 16-year-old Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL is the point leader in the East Region.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers will be competing for track points and a track point fund, as well as NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Regional points and point fund. The NeSmith Chevrolet Regional points are based on the driver’s best 16 point nights, plus up to 150 bonus points for competing in NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events.
