Roberts Trucking Sponsored Emory Mahan Super Late Memorial and E-Mod Charlie Robinson Memorial at Stateline Speedway By Glenn Slocum
Busti, NY: The first set of big races are scheduled for this Saturday night at Stateline Speedway. Roberts Trucking will sponsor a $3,000 to win ULMS Sanctioned Super Late Model race in memory or Emory Mahan Stateline’s first Super Late Model winner and a $2,000 UEMS Sanctioned Charlie Robinson Memorial E-Mod race.
It will be the first time since 2003 that the ULMS sanctioned an event at Stateline a 30 lap race won by Garland PA’s Dave Scott. Eldred Pa’s Bob Close, no stranger to Stateline Speedway, is the reigning ULMS Champ with his last win at Stateline on opening night in 2009.The ULMS Super Late Models will return four more times in 2010 with the top point man in the 5 car series earning a $1,000 bonus.
The UEMS E-Mods will make their inaugural appearance with UEMS defending Champ Olean NY’s Randy Hall leading the charge. Hall ran very strong last year at Stateline with three wins in seven appearances. Dave Hess Jr. is expected to be on hand, a past Stateline E-Mod Champion, as will 2009 Stateline E-Mod Champ Justin Carlson. Last Saturday there were 31 E-Mods in the pits and this Saturday an even stronger field is expected.
This will be the third attempt a starting the racing season. Opening night was rained out then last Saturday just before the Super Late Model qualifying heats rain once again appeared to end the racing for the night. Heats for the Spectators, Super Sportsman, E-Mods and Outlaw Cadets were run before the rain set in.
Gates open on Saturday at 5:30 PM with racing at 7:00 PM. General admission Adults $10.00, Seniors $9.00, Kids $5.00 and kids 5 and under free. Rain checks for 4/24 will be honored.
