FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mike Marlar leads flag-to-flag for NASRA “Junebug” Memorial Victory at Ponderosa Speedway

Contact: Jeremy Shields (jumpstartcomm@live.com)

WINFIELD, TN (May 1, 2010) – Mike Marlar would claim his third career Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial title as C.J. Rayburn’s National All Star Racing Association made its first trip to Ponderosa Speedway.

Marlar would take the race lead from the drop of the green flag with Brad Neat, Dustin Neat, Dustin Linville, and Eric Wells giving chase. Dustin Neat would take second on lap two before the caution would wave one lap later when Michael Chilton spins in turn one collecting Jeff Watson, Bobby Wolter Jr. and Arnie Fields. Back underway, Neat would begin to wage a battle with Marlar for the lead. Marlar would begin to work heavy lap traffic around lap 15. As the field saw the halfway point Marlar would remain in the lead as Neat was slowy beginning to make up some ground on Marlar. By lap 25 Neat had closed in on Marlar and began to mount a charge for the lead on lap 31. The battle for the lead would come to a halt as the caution would wave on lap 35. The lap 35 restart would be waved off as the caution would fly again for debris on the racing surface. Back underway Marlar would pull away to lead the remaining five lasp and bring home the win in the 11th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial and the $3,000 top prize.

Morning rains with more rain in the forecast throughout the day would for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series along with Paducah International Raceway Officials to cancel Saturday evenings events.

Marlar will return to the Bluegrass State next Saturday, May 8 as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series invades David and Anita Ferrell’s Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY.
