Anthony Burroughs Snags Pair of Top 5’s At GVS; NAS & TN National Up Next

Muscle Shoals, Alabama (04/21/10) –Anthony Burroughs collected a pair of top five finishes to add to his resume over the weekend behind the wheel of his #121 ALT Transportation/Mastersbilt By Stuckey/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model in Southern Regional Racing Series action at Green Valley Speedway.

Anthony was in action on Friday night, April 16th in the first leg of a double header with the Southern Regional Racing Series Super Late Models at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama. Twenty-one Super Late Models took part in the $2,000 to win event, and Burroughs began the night by setting fifth fastest time in his group to earn the outside front row starting spot for a qualifier. He would go on to win his qualifier in dominating fashion, which gave him the 8th starting spot for the 30 lap main event. In the feature, he would begin his march to the front at the drop of the green flag and by the race's midway point he was up to the third position behind leader, Ray Cook, and Stacey Holmes. Three laps later he would race past Holmes for the second spot as he set his sights on the leader. Burroughs would make a move on lap 27 exiting turn two to take the lead from Cook, only to get caught behind a lapped car heading down the backstretch, which allowed Cook to retake the lead. Anthony went on to record a solid second place finish behind event winner, Ray Cook.

The team entered the second night of the weekend's Southern Regional Racing Series Super Late Model on Saturday night, April 17th at GVS. Anthony started the night on Saturday in the same fashion that he started Friday as he qualified 5th fastest in his group. He once again started second in his qualifier and won it to earn the 8th starting spot for the feature event. In the main event, Burroughs would battle a tight race car during the early stages of the race before recovering in the latter half of the event to charge to a fifth place finish behind event winner, Ronnie Johnson, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Stacey Holmes, and Tony Morris. This weekend, Burroughs will once again take part in a pair of events. On Friday, April 23rd he will be in action in a Weekly Racing Series Event at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. On Saturday, April 24th, the team will travel to Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, Tennessee for twin, $1,200 to win features.
