Ross Camponovo Claims Pair of Top Tens; SAS at Clayhill Up NextClarksdale, Mississippi (04/14/10) – After a few weeks away from the track, “The Big Boss” Ross Camponovo returned to action over the weekend in a pair of events in his #18 R.C. Motorsports/Rocket/RPM Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Ross entered the 2010 season opener for Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi on Friday night. Fourteen Super Late Models entered the event. After trouble with his primary car, Camponovo made the trip home to get his backup car. He would get back at the track in time to start at the back of the field, and he went on to record a fourth place finish in the feature event.
On Saturday night R.C. Motorsports traveled to Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas for a $2,000 to win, COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model event. Twenty-five Super Late Models entered the event, and via heat race action, Ross locked into the 7th starting position for the feature. Ross would battle throughout the top ten during the course of the feature event, and by the time that the checkered flag dropped on the event, he was credited with a 7th place finish.
Ross originally planned to not race anywhere this coming weekend, but has made the last minute decision to enter the $7,500 to win/$500 to start, Southern All Star Super Late Model event on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee. The event will mark his first time to compete in a Super Late Model at the facility. For more information on the race, please visit
