Another exciting weekly racing program scheduled Saturday, April 17 at Volunteer Speedway; welcoming area youth baseball/softball teams

BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Jeff Maupin of Greeneville in Super Late Model, Morristown's Shanon Buckingham in Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro (Crate) Late Model, and Dustin Shaver of Morristown in Hobby Stock, captured feature wins last Saturday (April 10) at Volunteer Speedway in the first weekly points race of 2010.

Another exciting weekly racing program is scheduled Saturday, April 17 at "The Gap" with racing in Super Late Model, Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro (Crate) Late Model, and Hobby Stock.

***Note: Boys' and Girls' Youth Baseball/Softball Night at Volunteer Speedway is scheduled Saturday, April 17. All area coaches and parents are encouraged to bring youth baseball/softball teams (T-Ball, Little League, Middle School, High School) to the track, and all youth players wearing their team baseball/softball shirt will be admitted free in the grandstands. Treat your whole baseball/softball team to a night at the races courtesy of track owners Joe and Phyllis Loven! For details regarding youth basbeall/softball night at the races, contact Markerting & Sales Director Amanda Buckingham at (423) 817-0925.

The pit gate will open Saturday at 4 p.m. and the grandstands at 5 p.m. The drivers' meeting will be held in the backside pits at 6:45 p.m. Hotlaps are tentatively scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., to be followed by qualifying and then racing action getting the green flag at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission on Saturday, April 17 will be $10, youth (ages 11-15) $5, with kids 10-and-under admitted free in the grandstands. Pit passes and backside tier-parking $25.

No coolers, outside food or drinks permitted in front straightaway grandstands!!!

Tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers all about racing at Volunteer Speedway. You can't beat the excitement of an action-packed night of racing at "The Gap!"

Directions to Volunteer Speedway: South on Interstate 81 from Tennessee/Virginia state lines, take Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville), then turn right onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Look for track entrance approximately 200 yards on left.

North on Interstate 81 from I-81/I-40 split (East of Knoxville, TN), take Exit 23, then turn left onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Continue underneath the interstate over-pass and track entrance approximately 300 yards ahead on left.
