SAS heads to Clayhill Motorsports Park  for $7,500 to win

Atwood, Tenn. (April 12th, 2010) Clayhill Motorsports Park in Atwood, Tennessee is set to host its’ first ever Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series event on Saturday night April 17th, 2010. The event will pay $7,500 to win and $500 to start.

The series, just beginning its twenty-eight year of racing, runs approximately twenty-four events annually in the south and typically will travel to seven or eight states but the April 17th event will mark the series first ever visit to Clayhill Motorsports Park in Atwood and its first visit in many years to the middle/west Tennessee area.

Several hot shoes from throughout the south are expected to do battle on the new 3/8 of a mile dirt oval while vying for their share of over $25,000 in prize money. Early commitments include Series regulars Jonathan Davenport of Blairesville, GA, Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC, Scott Creel of Franklinton, LA, Freddy Smith of Seymour, TN, Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN, Doug Smith of Somerset, KY, Daniel Baggerly of Rural Retreat, VA and Jeff Franklin of Ten Mile, TN.

Other big name drivers expected are Chris Wall of Holden, LA, Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, AR, Billy Moyer Sr. of Batesville, AR, Dean Carpenter of Coldwater, MS, Dane Dacus of Memphis, TN, Terry English of Benton, KY, April Farmer of Livingston, TN and Ronny Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, AL. Many other commitments are expected to be announced between now and April 17th along with several surprise appearances.

Clayhill Motorsports Park offers exciting dirt track racing action every Saturday night throughout the summer months but this one-of-a-kind event dubbed the ‘King of the Hill 50’ is expected to draw fans from throughout the region and several states to see some of the best Super Dirt Late Model drivers from around the country churn up the dirt.

Clayhill will be holding an open practice on Friday night April 16th from 6 ‘til 9pm CDT. The physical street address of the track is:

From Nashville, Tennessee
Take I-40 West toward Memphis/Jackson - Parker's Crossroads: Take I-40 Exit 108 toward Huntingdon (TN-22) Turn right onto TN-22 (12 miles)
Huntingdon: Take McKenzie ramp West US-70/North TN-22 (LEFT LANE) Go about 1.5 miles, cross US-70 (4-way stop), keep straight on US-77/TN-22 (pass Wal-Mart) Continue on West US-70 ALT/TN-77 W (8 miles) toward McLemoresville.
McLemoresville: Turn right onto TN-105 West toward Trezevant (3 miles)
Trezevant: Keep straight, cross US-79 (4-way stop) & Railroad Tracks 0.8 miles to Republican Grove Rd. Veer Left onto Republican Grove Rd. (Clayhill Sign) Go about 4 miles to Rimmer Rd. Turn left onto Rimmer Rd. (Clayhill Sign) Track on right 0.5 miles
