Bluegrass Speedway’s 2010 Showtime Season Opener Set for April 17

Bardstown, KY-April 11, 2010- With the Test and Tune Open Practice in the books, track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to officially begin their 11th season of “Saturday Night Showtime” at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY with a full program of weekly racing series competition at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County racing facility.

Bluegrass Speedway will officially kick off the 2010 racing campaign with a full program of weekly racing series competition on Saturday April 17. The 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models will headline the racing program with a 25 lap, $1,000 to win main event, while the UMP Modifieds will also be in action in a 20 lap, $500 to win main event. The WBRT 1320-AM UMP Sportsman will compete in a 15 lap, $200 to win feature race, with the UMP Street Stocks concluding the evening with a 12 lap, $100 to win main event. For the April 17 season opening event, the Super Late Models and UMP Modifieds will take time trials, while the UMP Sportsman and UMP Street Stocks will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.

Activities for the April 17 season opener will see all events begin one hour earlier, with the pit area opening at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m. Practice will begin at 5:30 p.m., with time trials at 6:00 p.m., followed by the first official green flag of the season with racing at or before 7:00 p.m. All times are EDT. Ticket prices on April 17 will $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 free in the general admission area. A pit pass will cost $25.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway.
