Shane Stephens Opens Season At Beebe & Riverside This Weekend

Arlington, Tennessee (04/08/10) – “Mr. Snugs” Shane Stephens from Arlington, Tennessee will officially open his 2010 season this weekend as he enters a pair of COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model Series events!

As the old saying goes, “Sometimes one man’s misfortune is another man’s good luck,” and nothing could better describe Shane’s situation early in the 2010 season. Two weeks ago as he put the finishing touches on his motor for the COMP Cams MSRA opener at I-30 Speedway, disaster struck as a part failed in the motor, which in turn damaged several other parts, leaving him without a motor for the event as his hopes of contending for the COMP Cams MSRA Rookie title went up in smoke.

“Man, I just wanted to cry after working all winter to get ready for this tour, and then to have my main motor break literally hours before we were getting ready to leave. It was a pretty hopeless feeling,” comments Stephens.

However, on Saturday the weather forecast took a turn for the worse, and the event was ultimately nixed by Mother Nature before hot laps. As a result, Stephens didn’t lose any ground in the standings.

With a mulligan already in the books on the year, Shane will look to get things started on the right foot this weekend, April 9th-10th as he pilots his #15 Stephens Motorsports/GRT/CSI Racing Engine Super Late Model in a pair of COMP Cams MSRA events.

The weekend will get underway on Friday, April 9th at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas with a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 40 lap event around the ¼ mile. On Saturday, April 10th, the tour moves to Shane’s home track, Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas for the Spring Fling 40, where a $2,000 to win/$400 to start purse will be up for grabs.
