2010 weekly points opener scheduled Saturday, April 10 at Volunteer Speedway BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Volunteer Speedway opened its 37th season of exciting dirt-track racing back on March 6 with running of $10,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Spring Thaw," and during Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR weekend March 19-20 the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series was in action two night. With those three special events in the books, attention now switches to weekly racing programs at "The Gap."
Vic "The Thrill" Hill of Morristown captured his unprecedented fifth Volunteer Speedway Super Late Model track championship (1997, 1998, 2000, 2005 and 2009) last year, with Jonesborough's Jerry Broyles earning his first-ever Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro Late Model title, and Ray Jarnigan of Thornhill recorded the Hobby Stock championship. Who will win titles for 2010?
The 2010 weekly points opener is scheduled Saturday, April 10 with racing in Super Late Model, Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro Late Model, and Hobby Stock.
The pit gate will open at 4 p.m. and the grandstands at 5 p.m. The drivers' meeting will be held in the backside pits at 6:45 p.m. Hotlaps are tentatively scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., to be followed by qualifying and then racing action getting the green flag around 8 p.m.
Adult grandstand admission on Saturday, April 10 will be $10, youth (ages 11-15) $5, with kids 10-and-under admitted free in the grandstands. Pit passes and backside tier-parking $25.

Directions to Volunteer Speedway: South on Interstate 81 from Tennessee/Virginia state lines, take Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville), then turn right onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Look for track entrance approximately 200 yards on left.
North on Interstate 81 from I-81/I-40 split (East of Knoxville, TN), take Exit 23, then turn left onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Continue underneath the interstate over-pass and track entrance approximately 300 yards ahead on left.
