Bluegrass Speedway Has Test and Tune Practice Day Set for April 10

Bardstown, KY-- Track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to begin their 11th season at the promotional helm of Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY as the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County racing facility begins its 16th season of dirt track sports entertainment and the first order of business for the 2010 season will be a test and tune open practice for all racers.

The test and tune practice at the track will take place on Saturday April 10 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., with the 2010 racing season officially getting the green flag on Saturday evening April 17 with a full program of racing competition featuring Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, and UMP Street Stocks.

Activities for the test and tune practice day will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. There will be a short drivers meeting at 6:00 p.m., followed by as many practice rounds as possible for all divisions until everyone is done or it is 10:00 p.m., whichever comes first. Admission to the grandstand area will be free, while a pit pass will be $15.

Also of note for competitors in the UMP Modified division, it had been previously announced that racers could not use the D40 compound in the class, but the D40 will be allowed to be used, but can only be used as the left-front tire on those race cars.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evenings from mid-April through September. For more information about all racing activities for the 2010 racing season, visit the track’s page on the internet at www.bluegrass-speedway.com or by phone at (502) 349-1241 on raceday.
