Ponderosa Speedway Slings the Clay Again on Friday April 9Junction City, KY-April 4, 2010- After a successful doubleheader weekend set of season opening events, Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will begin the regular show portion of the 2010 racing season this Friday evening April 9 with a full program of racing competition.
Ponderosa Speedway will present a full program of weekly racing series competition on Friday April 9. In action will be the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models in a 25 lap, $1,000 A-Main, the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds in a 20 lap, $600 to win A-Main, the Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models in 20 lap, $600 to win A-Main, and the D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman in a 15 lap, $300 to win A-Main. All division will time trial at this event, with preliminary events consisting of a quick six dash and heat events in all divisions.
Activities for the April 9 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting takes place at 7:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 7:15 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., and racing taking the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free. A pit pass will be $25.
Ponderosa Speedway opened its 2010 racing season with a Friday/Saturday doubledip of racing action last weekend and feature event winners included Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Randle Sweeney of Clifty, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, and Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN in Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models on Friday, while Saturday’s winners included Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Rock, WV in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifies, and Josh Sexton of Mallie, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.
Current track championship point leaders heading into the Friday April 9 event are Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Rock, WV in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN in Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models, and Josh Sexton of Mallie, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.
Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
