“Little Eddie” Outduels “The Rooster” for Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial Title at Ponderosa Speedway



Junction City, KY-April 3, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway presented the 3rd Annual Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial on Saturday evening and Salt Rock, WV native Eddie Carrier, Jr. would outduel Dustin Linville to claim the win in the 40 lap, $3,000 to win event for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models.  Other feature event winners for the evening included Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds and Josh Sexton of Mallie, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.  

The start of the 3rd Annual Chris Estes/Brad Pena would get hairy at the start as front row starters Dustin Linville and Brad Neat would make contact entering turn three attempting to complete the first lap, with the pair spinning and stacking up six more cars behind them, but everyone would be able to continue.  A complete restart would take place and Linville would take the race lead, with Eddie Carrier, Jr., Neat, Justin Rattliff, and Jordan Bland giving chase.  Carrier, Jr. would begin to pressure Linville for the lead by lap 7, with Rattliff and Neat would wage their own battle for third at the same time.  Neat would take third on lap 10, while Carrier, Jr. and Linville would waltz side-by-side for the lead.  Disaster would strike Rattliff on lap 16 as he would loop his mount entering turn three while battling door-to-door with Neat for the third spot.  The restart would see Bland get around Neat for the third position, while Carrier, Jr. resumed his spirited battle with Linville for the lead.  Lap 26 would see Carrier, Jr. pull alongside Linville again for the lead, with Carrier, Jr. claiming the top spot for good in turn three on lap 27.  Lance Matthees would slow in turn two on lap 34 to close the field up once again and the restart would be a no-go when Larry Gray, Jr. and Steve Stollings spun in turn four.  The final restart would see Carrier, Jr. begin to pull away from the field, while Bland pressured Linville for second.  Skylar Marlar would make his way into the top five past Neat on lap 36 and give chase to older brother Mike Marlar, but no one would catch Carrier, Jr. as he would visit victory lane in the Carl Grover Motorsports owned Engines, Inc./Grover Motorsports/Cox Wrecker Service/Blue Ridge Machinery sponsored #28 Rocket Chassis, Grover Race Engines powered machine.  Linville, Bland, Mike Marlar, and Skylar Marlar would complete the top five.  The remainder of the top ten would be Brad Neat, Eric Wells, Victor Lee, Dustin Neat, and Chris Combs.  In preliminary action, Rattliff would be the top qualifier among 23 entries at 14.292 second, while heat race wins fell to Linville, Brad Neat, and Carrier, Jr.

Rattliff Rolls in Spring 30/Sweeney Slides to Arizona Sport Shirts 30 Wins at Ponderosa Speedway



Junction City, KY-April 2, 2010- It was the 8th Annual Spring 30 for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models at Ponderosa Speedway and Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY would drive to the 30 lap, $1,500 payday.  Also in action was the American Modified Series presented by Force for Earth Fuel and Randle Sweeney of Clifty, KY would win the 30 lap, $1,500 to win Arizona Sport Shirts 30 presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.  The Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models were also in action and Jeremy Hines of Williams, IN would be victorious in the 20 lap, $800 to win main event for that division.

Eric Wells and Justin Rattliff would bring the 8th Annual Spring 30 for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models to the green flag, with Wells jumping to the race lead, trailed by Justin Rattliff, Mike Marlar, Shon Flanery, and Eddie Carrier, Jr.  Wells and Rattliff would immediately go side-by-side for the race lead, with Rattliff edging past Wells for the race lead on lap 3.  The first caution of the event would fly on lap 7 for a slowed Dustin Linville in turn three, who would pull pitside for the remainder of the event.  Back underway, Carrier, Jr. would take fourth from Flanery, while Rattliff maintained the top spot.  Flanery would take second from Wells on lap 9, with Carrier, Jr. working past Wells for third one trip later.  With Rattliff beginning to pull away from the field and approaching slower traffic, Carrier, Jr. would reel in second place running Flanery and was set to make a move when the caution waved on lap 20 for debris in turn two.  Rattliff would again motor away from the field on the restart, while Marlar began to challenge Wells for the fourth spot, with Marlar taking the position on lap 27.  Rattliff would drive on to the win in the JRR Auto Sales/MGL Auto Sales/On Time Courier/Budda Bert Transmissions sponsored #16 Bloomquist Race Cars, Pro Power Race Engines powered machine.  Flanery and Carrier, Jr. would settle for second and third, with Marlar and Wells completing the top five.  Sixth through tenth would go to Jordan Bland, Dustin Neat, Chris Combs, David Webb, and Brad Neat.  In preliminary action, Eric Wells would be the top qualifier among 26 entries at 14.065 seconds and also would win the dash.  Heat wins would fall to Webb and Bland, while Brandon Fouts won the B-Main.
