Lucas Oil MLRA Season Opener Shifts to I-80 Speedway's "Spring Meltdown"Buckner, MO (March 28th, 2010) - As Mother Nature attempts to wreak havoc on the early spring racing schedules in the Midwest, the Lucas Oil MLRA will try again this weekend with the "Spring Meltdown" at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on Saturday, April 3rd. The previous two attempts to get the 2010 season underway at Mid-America Speedway were postponed by rain, but as they say "hopefully the third time is the charm". "We are all ready to get this season going," stated MLRA Promoter Harriett Chancellor "I know the drivers and fans both have cabin fever and we are all ready get back at it."
The racing action starts at 6:30pm on Saturday with the gates set to open at 3:00. Adult Admission is set at $15 with Juniors (6-15) just $8. Kids 5 and under are admitted FREE. The Lucas Oil MLRA will be racing for $3,000 to win while the IMCA Modifieds will also be in action with a special $1,000 to win top prize. IMCA Hobby Stocks round out the support classes.
The I-80 Speedway is located off Interstate I-80 at Exit 420 between Omaha and Lincoln and is part of the Nebraska Raceway Park Complex, which also includes the Little Sunset Speedway Go-Kart track and the Soaring Edge Motorcross Track.
