The Ultimate & FallFest Championships Return to October at Roaring Knob!

(MARS PA) - The major Western PA racing tradition for October will continue in 2010 at a new venue as Oval Track Promotions has announced that the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex will become the new home of "The Ultimate" on October 7-8-9. "The Ultimate" will be the season finale for the UFo Super Late Models while other divisions will compete in the "Spectacular FallFest Championships" on that weekend.

"The Ultimate" will be the largest paying race at Roaring Knob to date, with $7,000 going to the winner of the UFo Super Late Model feature. This inaugural version of the race at Roaring Knob will serve as the launching pad to build the event into the future at the track. "The Ultimate" was the premier event of the now-defunct Challenger Raceway. It evolved from an initial $1,000 to win Semi-Late race at "FallFest" into "The Utlimate" mammoth Super Late Model championship. This Pennsylvania fall tradition is famous for attracting the largest car count of the season in the region as well as massive crowds of spectators. "The Ultimate" will mark the 4th UFo race of 2010 at Roaring Knob, confirming the track's status as an anchor speedway on the tour.

The "Spectacular FallFest Championships" will feature other divisions competing during the weekend in extra payoff, extra-distance events including a FASTRAK Pro-Late Model regional tour race. Roaring Knob's central location among many weekly tracks, its driver-friendly surface and size, and its location in the mountain and lake country of southern PA provides the perfect location for a phenomenal season-ending event for the region. Full event details of "The Ultimate" and the "Spectacular FallFest Championships" will be released throughout the season.

Roaring Knob will be utilizing the UFo Super Late Model rules set with an open tire rule for their weekly shows, permitting the lower cost GM 525 and Spec motors to compete in the division. Pittsubrgh's PA Motor Speedway will also be using the same rules set for their weekly shows with their DIRTcar Hoosier tire rule. The GM 525 motor has an estimated total cost of $9,000, making Super Late Model racing more affordable and allowing more teams to get back into the division. This motor just recently captured a $4,000 to win sanctioned event in GA over a 40 car field.

The UFo Race Championship 2010 tour will kick off at MercerRacewayPark on Saturday, March 27 for the "Chiller Thriller." The UFo Super Late Models will compete in a full racing program of extended-lap heat races, consolation(s) and the exciting Mach-41 lap feature event paying $2,500 to win and $250 to start. The UEMS E-mods and Open Stock class will also be in competition, running for a whopping $1,000 to win each feature. The 4-cylinder Mini-Stock class will round out the program.
