Ponderosa Speedway Presents 3rd Annual Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial on Saturday April 3

Junction City, KY-March 20, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will present a very special event at “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with a rare Saturday night racing program on Saturday evening April 3.  

Ponderosa Speedway will present the 3rd Annual Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial event on Saturday evening April 3.  This event will feature the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models in competition in a 40 lap, $3,000 to win main event.  Also in action on the Saturday April 3 racing program will be the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds in a 25 lap, $1,000 to win event and the D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman will compete in a 20 lap, $500 to win feature event.  All divisions will time trials.  The top qualifier in the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model division will pill draw to determine the heat race inversion for all divisions for the evening.  Also, the Spring 30 Super Late Model winner and Arizona Sport Shirts 30 UMP Modified winner from the previous night’s (April 2) racing program will be guaranteed starting positions in their respective A-Mains at the Estes/Pena Memorial event.  Free parking and free camping will also be available for the weekend for race fans that choose to spend the weekend.    

Activities for the Saturday April 3 Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial event will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and the grandstand area will open at 5:00 p.m.  Mandatory driver meetings will take place at 6:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at 7:00 p.m.  Time trials will get underway at 7:30 p.m., while racing will take the green flag at or before 8:30 p.m.  Ticket prices in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 will be admitted free.  A pit pass will be $30.  


Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner Presents Arizona Sport Shirts 30 at Ponderosa Speedway April 2

Junction City, KY-March 20, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce a great promotion with Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner at the 2010 season opener on Friday April 2.  

Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will present the Arizona Sport Shirts 30 at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 2 as part of the track’s 8th Annual Spring 30 event.  The American Modified Series will sanction the event for the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, with the Arizona Sport Shirts 30 paying $1,500 to win and $200 to start.  As part of the night’s activities, Force Fuel representatives will be in attendance with a special incentive race package that will include one free general admission ticket (a $15 value that can be upgraded to a pit pass for an extra $15), $5 off a $10 race simulator package, as Force Fuel will also have a racing simulator on the grounds, and a chance to win one of two University of Kentucky basketballs that will be autographed by former University of Kentucky basketball standout Jeff Sheppard with the purchase of one 32 oz. bottle of Force Fuel Engine Conditioner, which retails for $46 per bottle, but will only cost $30 at this special event.  Sheppard will be on hand to meet and greet with race fans and will sign autographs from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  Fans can pre-order the Force Fuel additive at Airport Road Salvage Yard in Junction City, Clayton Homes of Stanford, and at Wayne Bowen Racing Supply in Burgin to avoid waiting in line at the track to do so.  

Also in action on Friday April 2 racing program at Ponderosa Speedway will be the 8th Annual Spring 30 for Super Late Models, paying $1,500 to win for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models.  The Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Model division will also be in competition in a 25 lap, $800 to main event.  All divisions will time trials.  The A-Main winners in the Clayton Homes UMP Modified division and Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model division will be guaranteed starting spots in their respective divisions A-Main event the following evening on Saturday April 3 for the 3rd Annual Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial.  Free parking and free overnight camping is also available for the weekend.

Ponderosa Speedway Test and Tune Practice This Friday March 26

Junction City, KY-March 20, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are anxious to begin the 2010 racing season and the final piece of the plan prior to racing officially getting underway takes place this Friday evening March 26.

Ponderosa Speedway will host a test and tune practice session this Friday March 26 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  Pit gates and the grandstand area will open at 4:00 p.m. and admission to the grandstand area will be free to everyone, while a pit pass will be $15.  This will be valuable practice time on the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval, as new clay has been added to the track, so this will be the first laps on the new clay.    

The four weekly divisions of competition set for Ponderosa Speedway in 2010 will be the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models, Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, and D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.  

The 2010 racing season officially takes the green flag with a doubleheader weekend of race action on Friday April 2 and Saturday April 3.  On Friday April 2, it will be the 8th Annual Spring 30 as Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner presents the Arizona Sport Shirts 30, featuring the Clayton Home UMP Modifieds sanctioned by the American Modified Series presented by Force for Fuel, paying $1,500 to win and $200 to start.  The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models will also be in action in a 30 lap, $1,500 to win main event, plus an $800 to win event for the Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models.  On Saturday April 3, the 3rd Annual Chris Estes/Brad Pena Memorial will take place, with the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models racing 40 laps for $3,000 to win, with $1,000 to win for Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds and $500 to win for D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.
