ESPN Radio Chattanooga debuts Racing Zone Show

ESPN RADIO CHATTANOOGA DEBUTS 'RACING ZONE' SHOW 105.1FM MONDAY FEB. 8th
 
Chattanooga, TN (02/02/10) -- Brewer Media and ESPN Chattanooga Radio (105.1FM) announced Monday, its new RACING ZONE show, which is set to debut Monday, February 8th at 6PM. The show will be hosted by "BIG" Steve Hixson, who's currently the PR/Marketing Director for the Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold/Chattanooga and Cleveland (TN) Speedway's broadcast announcer. Along side Hixson will be ESPN's Nick Bonsanto and Jessie Williams, as the show kicks off prior to the "GREAT AMERICAN RACE" (The Daytona 500) as well as the local dirt racing scene.

Plans are to cover all aspects of motorsports with a wide variety of news, headlines, information and caller input. The show will be broadcast live Monday's at 6PM EST and can be heard online at www.espnchattanooga.com via the internet. Hixson joins the ESPN 105.1FM Chattanooga team, coming in with almost 20-years of experience in the racing industry, which includes broadcasting and journalism. Hixson's Godfather was NASCAR pioneer/racing legend DeWayne "Tiny" Lund, though most of his experience came from the late Joe Lee Johnson, former owner/promoter of the Cleveland Speedway and winner of the inaugural WORLD 600 at Charlotte.

As the racing season gets further into Spring, the show will host more indepth information with first-hand segments from racing insiders as well as the competitors themselves. Chattanooga and its surrounding areas, have always been a hot-bed for motorsports activity. Ranging from drivers of yesterday; such as Freddy Fryar, Grant Adcox to Bill Elliott, to today's best like Ronnie Johnson, Dale McDowell and Scott Bloomquist, the area is full of stories from the past, present and future, all of which will be discussed on MOTORSPORTS MONDAYS and The ESPN 105.1FM RACING ZONE show.
