Title: Jimmy Mars Eyes Another Red Clay Classic Title this Weekend Post by LMR on 10/02/15 at 3:01am FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 1, 2015 ________________________________________ Jimmy Mars Eyes Another Red Clay Classic Title this Weekend MENOMONIE, WISC (October 1) - Mars Racing made their yearly pilgrimage to the hallowed grounds of Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 24-26 for the 12th edition of the 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the three-day crown jewel spectacular, which kicked off with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Jimmy Mars ran sixth in his loaded heat race and fifth in the B-Main, but a broken rear end early in the 25-lapper caused him to retire in the twenty-fourth position. At Knoxville on Friday evening, Jimmy won his heat race in preliminary action prior to winding up fifteenth in the final rundown of the 25-lap sprint after starting from the outside of the ninth row. When Saturday rolled around at the 1/2-mile Marion County fairgrounds speedplant, all eyes were solely focused on the $40,000 payday in the 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' Jimmy won the B-Main to gain access into the 100-lap headliner, but retired early in the extra-distance affair and settled for a thirtieth place showing. Full results from the extended weekend in the Hawkeye State can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com. The Menomonie, Wisconsin star will pull double duty this upcoming weekend (October 2-3) at ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin in the 40th Annual 'Red Clay Classic.' Jimmy will be behind the wheel of his father-in-law's #21 WISSOTA Late Model to vie for the $4,000 winner's check, while he will also be a hired gun in the WISSOTA Modified division to compete for the $3,000 top prize. Jimmy has five career triumphs at ABC Raceway, all coming during the 'Red Clay Classic' weekend (1994 Late Model, 1995 Late Model, 1996 Late Model, 2004 Late Model, and 2004 Modified).
